Silchar, August 01 2020: The All Assam Manipuri Students Union (AAMSU) has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister N Biren Singh requesting the Chief Minister to approach his counterpart in Assam in the interest of Manipuri diasporas of Assam for inclusion of Manipuri in the list of languages in which one can appear examinations conducted by Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) .

The memorandum also mentioned about the issues faced while teaching Manipuri language in schools in Assam.
