Boy saves lives

A seven-year-old boy has saved three children from drowning at Charangpat Mamang Leikai in Thoubal district.
The incident happened at around 11.30 am on January 24, said a press release issued by Rural Youth Development Organisation, Charangpat.
A boy identified as Thangjam Nandaraj (11) accidentally fell into a deep pond located at the residential complex of one Asem Tunan Singh.
Two other children Thangjam Jina (12) and Thangjam Jonika (8) also fell into the water as they tried to save the boy, the press release said.
At that time, seven-year-old Dinamani Thangjam not only shouted for help but also pulled up Jina using a long stick.
Later, Jina pulled up Jonika and Nandaraj one after another, said the press release.
The organisation lauded Nandaraj for his bravery and presence of mind.
The boy is now reading in Class V at Catholic School, Canchipur.
