E-post counter opened at Vellore to honour Mirabai

Imphal, July 30 2021: An exclusive e-post Counter has been opened at Vellore HPO on Thursday morning in to honour Tokyo Olympic Games silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu.

The e-post counter befittingly named "India's Mirabai Chanu" will solicit wishes sent to her as well as the other members of Indian Olympic contingent through e-post at the rate of Rs 10 .

According to a release of PIB Chennai, one may send e-post message "Best of Luck Indian Olympic Team" for the upcoming events.

The counter was inaugurated by M Tamil Selvan, who is winner of the bronze medal in the National Games, Jharkhand-2011 and silver medallist at the Senior National Championship, Udaipur during 2010 in weight lifting.

He is working now as Postman in Department of Posts.

Presiding over the function, Superintendent of Post Offices, Vellore Division P Komal Kumar urged all the people to use the facility for sending wishes to "India's Mirabai Chanu" who made all citizens to be proud.

The main object of setting up the counter is to encourage the winners and to recognise all who prove their talents, the PIB statement quoted Superintendent of Post Offices, Vellore Division, Vellore 632001 as saying.
