Imphal, April 18 2009:
CPI candidate for the Inner seat Dr M Nara has called upon the people to teach a befitting lesson to all the political traders who have defiled sanctity of politics and its importance in the society.
Speaking at public meetings held in connection with the election to the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency scheduled to be held on April 22, at Andro and Kwakeithel Bazar today, Dr Nara observed that everyone knows that politics is the noblest and highest profession that could lead the society and its people to the right path.
Unfortunately, there are some political traders among us who are misusing politics for their own personal gain.
Such political traders should be taught a befitting lesson by the people in the election this time.
The Indian Constitution has given the people their rights to elect an able leader who understand the real ethics of politics in the election being held after every five year.
This unique opportunity should not be utilised by the people in teaching befitting lesson to the political traders who played with the sentiments of the people.
Dr Nara also assured that he would work for ensuring removal of black laws, bring about development change, promote work culture through setting up model village in every Assembly segments apart from ushering in peace and economic prosperity.
MLA of Kumbi A/C N Mangi who was also present and spoke at these meetings asserted that CPI has no greed for power or Ministerial post.
Yet in view of the prevailing situation in the State, CPI felt the need for sending a dedicated leader to the Parliament who could speak up for the people of Manipur and hence Dr Nara has been nominated to contest in the election.
With the possibility of a Third Front Government led by Left parties coming to power at the Centre after the Lok Sabha election, the success of Dr Nara in the election would be in the interest of the people, MLA Mangi added.
Election campaign of Dr Nara were also reportedly held at many places including Mayang Imphal, Wangkhem, Wangoi, Andro, Keishamthong, Sagolband and Heingang.
