30th TKS conference cum sports meet inaugurated

Imphal, April 20 2017:
RD and PR, Public Works, IPR, Administrative Reforms, Power, Commerce and Industries Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh inaugurated the 30th Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong General Conference cum Sports Meet at the AS Khathing Memorial Ground, Tashar village, Ukhrul district today.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural function, the Minister encouraged unity among the people and urged to bring a developed and peaceful society.
He said the effort of TKS in organising event which encourages understanding and unity among the people is laudable.

Minister Biswajit observed that the differences among the people are creations of our minds and said that all human beings are same and everyone should work together to build trust and unity.
He also encouraged the youth to work hard and be determined so as to become responsible citizens.
"Youth of today is the future tomorrow.
In order to build a strong and united society, youth need to understand their role and responsibilty and work towards that goal with determination," the Minister said.
Minister Biswajit further stated that the present State Government was formed by people's mandate and it will neither neglect nor ignore the wishes of the people.
"The State Government is committed towards bringing development in the State," the Minister said.
Everyone has been assigned a task to bring positive changes in the society.
As such, people should not forget their responsibilities, he noted.
He assured to look into the issue of lack of power supply in the district and construct houses for the homeless.
He further urged the village authorities concerned to send proposals for the construction of houses for the intended beneficiaries.
Parliamentary Secretary Leishiyo Keishing also attended the function and handed monetary assistance to TKS and Tashar Katamnao Long.
