Painting competition held

Imphal, October 18 2015:
In an endeavour to promote Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Hqs IGAR (South) conducted an inter-school painting competition for the students of all Assam Rifles schools at 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles at Thoubal.
Around seven Assam Rifles schools participated in the competition wherein students of Class 3 to 10 displayed their artistic skills, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
The event was judged by eminent artists of Manipur including Lalit from Imphal.
2 Assam Rifles Commandant was present at the competition on behalf of IGAR (S) as the chief guest.
He appreciated the skills of young children and stressed on making India a clean and beautiful country.
In the senior category, Debadash Meitei of ARMS, Kakching secured 1st position, Thoithongbi of ARMS, Thoubal got 2nd position and Elanbam Kapil Singh of ARNS, Mantripukhri secured 3rd position.
In the junior category, Nilkamal of ARMS, Thoubal, Raji Devi of ARMS, Thoubal and Tungwarshim of ARJH, Pallel secured first, second and third positions respectively.
The overall championship was awarded to Assam Rifles Middle School, Thoubal with 786 points and Assam Rifles Middle School, Kakching with 654 points was the runners up in the competition, added the press release.
