PLA cadres remanded

Imphal, September 19 2022: The Session Judge, Imphal West today remanded two active cadres of PLA/ RPF who were arrested along with arms and ammunition by a combined team of Moreh commandos and 5 Assam Rifles from Jengnoi village under Moreh police Station on September 9 .

Leihaothabam Thoiba Sharma alias Tiken (21) S/o L Meiraba of Kaphei Lunchang village, Chandel and Thokchom Tamthouba Diamond Meitei (23) S/o Th Britain of Serou Bazar Awang Leikai were produced before the Court by a team of Moreh Police after the completion of police custody period along with a prayer for judicial custody remand.

The IO of the case submitted that alleged accused persons and one juvenile were arrested on September 9 at around 3 am .

The juvenile has been already sent to an observation.

One AK series rifle with magazine, two .32 pistols with two magazines, four live rounds of AK rifle and 10 live rounds of .32 pistols were seized from their possession.

During interrogation, Leihaothabam Thoiba Sharma revealed that he along with Thokchom Tamthouba and CCL (child in conflict with law) deserted the outfit with arms and ammunition on September 7 at around 9.50 pm .

The Court, on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO, remanded the alleged accused to judicial custody.
