Imphal, April 18 2009:
As a result of their own misgovernance during the last seven years, the illness of the congress party has deteriorated to such a stage that the party has been admitted in Intensive Care Unit, said MDA candidate Thounaojam Chaoba of MPP.
Addressing election rallies at the community halls of Kwakta Bazar and Bishnupur Bazar, the former Union Minister said that there are very few States where Congress can win elections.
With the fortune of Congress party going downhill, no Congress Government would ever return back, he claimed.
In Manipur too, the Congress party is marred by serious conflict of opinion within itself.
As such, many Congress men are up in arms, though its remains secret, Chaoba asserted.
The SPF Government would vanish like cotton flakes after the Parliamentary elections, he continued.
Saying that his preparation to go to the Parliament is for a joint mission of heavy responsibility of the four political parties, Th Chaoba said he would be taking several issues of crucial importance such as territorial integrity, AFSPA, violence and killings etc to the Parliament.
As such, the 15th Lok Sabha elections is of immense significance to the MDA.
He further asked the people to stop voting for ruling Congress and CPI if they are determined to protect the integrity of Manipur and check killings and violence.
"In addition to checking violence, I would shout on the floor of the Parliament to abolish the incumbent Government which has been following 'jungle raj' as well as to publish the report of Jeevan Reddy Committee which has been kept locked in a vault in case people elect me", Chaoba pledged.
Observing that people have been suffering to the limit because of the ever worsening law and order situation, undeveloped transport infrastructure, irregular power supply, inability to provide safe drinking water and the escalating prices of essential commodities, Chaoba said that all these problems can be redressed and peace can reign in the State only when there is a change after overthrowing the Congress party.
