Imphal, August 31: Troops of the Assam Rifles have apprehended three PULF and one UNLF cadre while combined teams of security force one member each of the PREPAK and KCP organisations in the past 48 hours.

Identifying the three PULF cadres as md Alioudin alias Abu Khan (38) s/o Fazur Rahman of Linehoukhong, Ziyur Rehman alias Abu (23) s/o (L) Hatin Ali of Lilong Awang Leikai and Ningthou (24) s/o Noor Mohmood of Lilong Awang Leikai, a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) said troops of 32 AR launched operation in the general area Turel Ahanbi today resulting in their arrest.

The UNLF cadre identified as S/S L/Cpl Loyang Ngamba alias kanglei alias Kumarjit alias Ibuma (24) s/o Gunamani Meitei of Khoirom in Thoubal district was netted at Bongyang check post manned by 31 Assam Rifles yesterday while the individual was travelling in a Tata Sumo (white), according to the PRO while adding that the arrestee has been handed over to Tengnoupal police station today.

At around 8.45 am yesterday, a combined team of Imphal East district police commandos and troops of 32 AR arrested one PREPAK cadre namely Pukhrambam Maipaksana Singh (29) s/o P Shyamkishore of Singjamei Makha Keibung Oinam Leikai from the same area, a statement of SP (IE) Th Radheshyam Singh released today said.

Maipaksana joined PREPAK organisation in October 2006 through one Dhanaba who was involved in extortion activities targeting the general public and Govt officials, it added.

The KCP activist arrested by personnel of Imphal West district commando and 12 Maratha LI from Sagolband Tera Bazar Sapam Leirak at around 4.45 pm yesterday has been identified as Chingam Biken alias Lulun Haokip alias Nanao Meitei (28) s/o Ch Ibopishak Singh of Langmeidong Bazar, according to SSP (IW) L Kailun.
