Senapati, March 29 2016:
Civil society organization of Sadar Hills have today asked the departments concerned to send back all the teachers being utilised at the capital immediately at their respective posting in Sadar Hills.
Spokesperson of the CSOs Sadar Hills, Lamcha Chongloi said that many teachers attached in various primary schools in Sadar Hills have been found utilized in various departments at Imphal.
He continued that on receiving complaints from various schools that teachers are being utilised at places place rather than the schools of their posting, the CSOs paid a surprise visit to various schools in Sadar Hills.
"The complaints were found genuine", lamented the CSOs spokesperson while adding that many children were found attending the school without teachers while in some schools the village authority concerned had arranged temporary teachers to teach the students.
He pointed out that at the newly established West Joupi Primary School in Twilang (IT Road) area more than 60 students were attending the school without any teacher while the only two teachers posted at the schools were reportedly utilized somewhere in the State capital.
How can the department concerned compel the economically backward students to attend schools without teachers while utilizing their teachers somewhere else rather than motivating them (the teachers) to teach the poor children well in the remote area ? asked Lamcha Chongloi.
He said that during the surprise visit it has been found that apart from teacher's inadequacy, infrastructure in various schools were found wanting.
