Imphal, June 22 2010:
Taking strong exception to the killing of Nongthombam Sarat (55) of Oinam Awang Leikai by two gunmen at about 7 pm yesterday, the proscribed KCP observed that the murder committed without giving any reason was a handiwork of criminals, extortionists and gangs bereft of any revolutionary ethics or principle.
A press release issued by the outfit's information and publicity secretary H Poirei remarked that the local people's outcry against killing people without conducting trial even if it was done by armed groups should not be taken lightly by armed revolutionary groups.
The armed group in whose name the murder was committed should also issue an explicit clarification before it is too late, it asserted.
Endorsing the local people's assertion that any person judged guilty should be given a chance to make a clarification, the outfit said that many more people would be victimised if the killing of Sarat was purely for monetary demand.
It has become highly questionable for whom the revolutionary struggle is being carried on if the people of Manipur should be killed in similar manner for monetary demands.
If the guns of revolutionary cadres should turn to the people, then the revolutionary movement is no more for the people.
It's time for the bigger revolutionary organisations to join hands and work together towards eliminating those groups bereft of revolutionary principle and objectives.
Calling upon all to fight and exterminate all those elements who can kill people without any remorse for some money, the outfit asserted that all revolutionary groups should join together and finish off all those black sheep and traitors who have been working at the behest of security forces and defiling the revolutionary movement.
