The proscribed KYKL has clarified that it was not related in any manner to the killing of Assistant AO in Horticulture Department Nongthombam Sarat of Oinam Awang Leikai.
According to the wife of late Sarat, the killers identified themselves as KYKL cadres.
However, a press release issued by the outfit claimed that the identity and motive of the killers were known to the party. The murder was committed by an armed group and it was related to monetary demand served to Agriculture Department.
If the murderers do not explain the killing of Sarat to the public within three days, KYKL would expose the identity of the killers, it said.
The party has never deceived the public.
It has been strictly abiding by its principle of owning up any action that was done by them.
In the same manner, the KYKL would disclaim what was not done by them, it asserted.
Taking the name of KYKL for the murder was done deliberately by some elements to tarnish the image of the party.
Categorically stating that the murder of Sarat was not related to the revolutionary movement, KYKL asserted that the murder was an act of criminal elements.
The JAC constituted against the murder of Sarat should talk to the Bishnupur SP, the AO and the Horticulture Office, Bishnupur if they wish to know about the murder.
Calling bandhs against the murder would not help in bringing the criminals to book, the outfit pointed out.
People should focus on identifying the killers so that they can be given exemplary punishment and avoid such killings in future.
It's time for the people to realise that actions related to monetary demands like lobbing bombs, opening fire, killing and bombarding hospitals which are left untouched even during war, were done by criminals who have been masquerading as revolutionaries, it added.
