The United Naga Council (UNC) and the Naga Women Union (NWU) on behalf of the Naga peoples' of 'South Nagalim' in general have appealed to all parties in Thiwa issue to peacefully resolve the matter.
A joint statement noted that the situation at Thiwa village is of serious concern to the Naga people as it carries the potential of hindering traditional values of peaceful co-existence within Naga family.
The UNC and Naga civil societies always respect the sentiments and interest of all communities and the Nagas in particular and at the same time, uphold the Christian principle of forgiveness and promote the social fabric of good neighbourhood and brotherhood of all mankind.
Any disputes or conflicts within or outside the village or family should be solved through traditional system of delivering justice.
The UNC and its frontal organizations are working and shall continue to work with sincere efforts to maintain peace and tranquillity in Naga society.
