Governor, CM extend Yaoshang greetings

Governor of Manipur Dr KK Paul has extended his warm greetings to the people of Manipur, particularly the Hindu brethren on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Yaoshang festival.
In his message, the Governor said that Yaoshang is celebrated on the onset of spring every year by the followers of Hinduism which symbolizes the rejuvenation of the spirit of life, young and old alike take part in this festival of colours.
The festival is also marked by fun and gaiety imbued with spiritualism, leaving behind the past and looking forward to a new day with full of hope.
Dr KK Paul further exhorted one and all to forget differences and to strengthen the bond of unity irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
Let us all celebrate Yaoshang in its true spirit with the participation of all communities and resolve to make Manipur a better and peaceful state where mutual respect and love prevail among all communities, Governor said.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi also extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang.
In his message, Ibobi said that Yaoshang is one of the biggest festivals of Manipur, a festival of joy and reconciliation when the old and young enjoy with gaiety and enthusiasm.
Yaoshang emphasizes on the message of love and the spirit of harmony and friendship amongst different communities in the State.
The festival of colours may also help to bring peace, prosperity and happiness in the State and strengthen the social fabric, he noted.
