Newly appointed president of BJP Manipur Pradesh A Sharda Devi felicitated

Imphal, June 28 2021: A felicitation ceremony of Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, the newly appointed State President of BJP Manipur Pradesh, was held today by BJP Yaiskul Mandal at the residence of CAF and PD Minister Th Satyabrata Singh.

A Sharda Devi was recently appointed by BJP national president J P Nadda.

It is an honour for the entire womenfolk of Manipur that the BJP national leaders chose a woman to lead the party in the state.

This signifies BJP's seriousness of its motto of empowering women, said a press release by the Mandal.

It may be mentioned that A Sharda Devi formally joined the BJP as an active member in June, 1995 and contested the lmphal Municipal Council election from Ward No 7 and got elected as Councillor.

She held several key posts in the past, both at national and state level.

Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi held the post of national secretary twice during the tenure of Mridullah Sinha (1997 - 1998), Maya Sing (1998 � 2000).She also held the national vice president in 2010 � 2012 during the tenure of Smriti Zubin Irani National and in 2014 � 2016 during the tenure of Bijaya Rahatker and also National Executive Member 2012 - 2014 in the tenure of Saroj Pandey.

At the state level, Devi had been a member of the BJP State Core Committee from 1998 to 2016, and also a member of ticket committee, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi said that she will shoulder full responsibility as the State Party President and will try to perform the activities of the party effectively and efficiently taking the help of social media and information Technology (IT).

The public should be made aware of the different schemes and welfare activities undertaken by the Central Government including the Shram Suvidha Portal (One-Stop-Shop for Labour Law Compliance), she added.

She further stated that "Let us work under the laws and guidelines laid down by the Constitution of India".

Advisor to Chief Minister Laimayum Bashanta Sharma gave a briefing on the political career and growth of A Sharda Devi ever since she joined the party.

He also highlighted on the innumerable contributions and varied roles played by her as a political worker for the BJP party.

BJP party members, workers and locals of Yaiskul AC were also present at the felicitation ceremony.

Meanwhile, BJP Tamenglong District congratulated Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi on being elected as the new president of BJP, Manipur Pradesh.

A press release issued by the president of BJP Tamenglong district, M Daniel expressed confidence that under her dynamic leadership, the party will strengthen and attain new heights.

He expressed hope that BJP and the State Government would do commendable works for the backward district of Tamenglong.

Also BJP Konthoujam Mandal extended greetings to A Sharda Devi and congratulated her for the new role.

The Mandal in a press release also extended gratitude to JP Nadda, National President of BJP for appointing A Sharda Devi, the first woman president of BJP Manipur.
