Constitution Day observed at various places

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority today celebrated Constitution Day by organising a painting competition on the theme, "Prevention of Child Marriage" and a quiz competition on, "Know your Constitution" at Training Hall, Centre for Women & Girls, Tengnoupal.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chandel and CWG, Tengnoupal.
It was participated by students from various schools, members of CWG, NYK Chandel and functionaries of DLSA Chandel.
The programme began with a welcome & keynote speech by Mercy of NYK Chandel followed by a preamble reading session with the participants.
At the event, Damgam Khaling, Secretary, Child Welfare Committee, Tengnoupal cum secretary SERDS delivered a lecture on Indian Constitution, Fundamental Duties of the Citizens and Gender Equality.
CHURACHANDPUR
NYK Churachandpur in collaboration with IQAC Churachandpur College today observed Constitution Day 2022 at the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Thangkhanlal Ngaihte, Assistant Professor Churachandpur College elaborated on the unique features of the Constitution, challenges faced by India at the time of independence, challenges of conducting election in the initial years, etc.
"The destruction wrought by World War II, cold war, partition and wars between India and Pakistan, communal riots, reluctance of some princely States to accede to India and the assassination of Gandhi, all made things very difficult", he added.
H Doungel, Deputy Director/OSD NYK Churachandpur also attended the event.
KAKCHING
Kha Manipur College Teacher's Welfare Association also observed Constitution Day at the auditorium of Kha Manipur College Kakching.
It was attended by Kha Manipur College Kakching, caretaker Principal, Y Raju; Associate Professor, Dr N Subhaschandra and Associate Professor, S Ingoba as presidium members.
Reading of Preamble led by Assistant Professor Satyabrati and Associate Professor, Dr M Santi Devi, and singing of the National Anthem by NCC cadets were the main highlights of the event.
Kha Manipur College Kakching, History Department, Associate Professor, Dr N Somendrajit and Pol Sc Department, Assistant Professor, Suresh Khan also attended the event as resource persons.
PHERZAWL
As celebrated across the country, Constitution Day was celebrated at the Office Chamber of Deputy Commissioner Pherzawl District.
It was also observed in different schools under ZEO Pherzawl, Health and other Government establishments under Pherzawl.
As part of the event, Haulianlal Guite, DC Pherzawl administered the Constitution pledge to all the DLOs.
THOUBAL
District Health Society Thoubal under the aegis of District Administration Thoubal today observed Constitution Day at Conference Hall, DHS Thoubal.
It was attended by Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul Singh; Senior Medical Officer, Dr M Bikramjit Singh and District Program Manager, CMO Thoubal, Ch Basanta Singh as presidium members.
Dr M Bikramjit Singh; Th Romen Singh, Malaria Technical Supervisor of DM0 Office Thoubal and Dr Y Nokul spoke on the occasion.
Staff of CMO Office Thoubal, DMO, IDSP, DTO, Leprosy Office, DFWO Thoubal and District Programme Management Unit of District Health Society Thoubal attended the programme.
Moreover, Lilong Haoreibi College, Thoubal District also observed National Constitution Day at the College's Multipurpose Hall today.
Quiz competition for students on the theme, "Know Your Constitution" and reading of the "Preamble of Indian Constitution" with the Principal of the College, Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh as the lead reader were the main highlights of the event.
Assistant Professor, Political Science Department, Md Safiqur Rahman; Syed Zakir Hussain, L Dhaneshwore Singh and Dr L Sanahanbi Devi also attended the programme.
Nehru Yuva Kendra and Waikhom Mani Girls College in association with District Administration also observed Constitution Day at the college.
It was attended by Prof H Manoranjan, principal WMGC; N Jyotinkumar, HoD Political Science Department WMGC and Michael Matte, coordinator NYK Thoubal as presidium members.
As part of the programme signature campaign, Constitution pledge and quiz competition were held.
National Constitution Day was also observed by different departments in the district.
Staffs of SDO Office Thoubal, Wangjing Lamding & Shikhong Sekmai Municipal Council, CMO, District Transport, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, PWD, PHED, MSPDCL, ICDS, ZEO and District Police took the Constitution pledge.
ASSAM RIFLES
On the occasion of Constitution Day, Chassad Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a pledge taking ceremony at Bn HQ Chassad today.
The pledge was aimed to reaffirm the country as a sovereign, social, secular & democratic republic; secure justice, liberty & equality for all citizens and promote fraternity to maintain unity & integrity of the nation, said a statement of IGAR(S) .
