HL Eliah crowned Phantu Fashion Queen

Imphal, January 03: Seventeenyear old HL Eliah has been crowned the Phantu Fashion Queen, 2008 of Lambung village, Chandel during the 27th annual picnic of Lambung Youth and Cultural Club (LYCC) which came alive with cultural and musical razzmatazz at the picturesque Monhe river ground of Lambung village on January 2.

Sixteen-year old HT Gina and Seventeenyear old Rng Pass were declared the Ist and the 2nd runners up respectively of the Fashion Queen contest, a bi-yearly event being held since the establishment of the club, as part of the extended programme of the annual New Year celebration with the main objective of providing a platform to the young girls and budding designers of the village to show case their talent.

In all six village belles had participated in the competition vying for the coveted crown.

Kalonpa alias Mary who had come up with eye-catching designs of formal and casual dresses with a blend of both traditional and modern motives redefining the traditional Anal costume bagged the Best Designer award.

The evening programme of the 27th annual picnic, 2008 of Lambung Youth and Cultural Club held under the theme of 'The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step' began with SDC Chandel KL Hringkham, MCS; Staff Nurse of District Hospital, Chandel KL Pehlung and Accountant of DIPR, Government of Manipur HL Warhring taking the chair as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
