Yairipok-Kasom Khullen road cut off

Yairipok-Kasom Khullen road has been cut off after the road sank at different points.
On the other hand, around 20 houses have been damaged when a crack as wide as 4/5 feet developed on the surface at Kasom Khullen sub-divisional headquarters.
According to Robertson Jajo, former chairman of Kasom Khullen Development Organisation, several houses have been damaged as the earth's surface developed a huge crack.
The affected families have fled to safer locations.
Yairipok-Kasom Khullen road has sunk over a stretch of 20 metres at Yeshom and another 200 metres have sunk at Dolaibung, just 7 Kms away from Kasom Khullen.
Notably, the road is being developed by the ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd at an estimated cost of Rs 270 crore invested by the Asian Development Bank.
Meanwhile, a large number of homesteads, paddy fields and fish farms have been submerged at Heibongmakhong Mayai Leikai located within Wabagai A/C after the eastern bank of Manipur river breached at four different points.
One point of the embankment breached at 2.40 am today followed by three other points successively.
It is reported that many places of Bishnupur district like Nambol Sabal Leikai, Kongkham, Maibam and Naorem are still flooded.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the Gwaltabi Village Authority informed that vast tracts of paddy fields belonging to Gwaltabi Kuki, Molcham, Chahmol, B Boljang, Jangnomphai, K Khonom, Tuinomjang, Tuisomjang, Nungambi and Leplen have been inundated.
