Many condemn police action in Nungba

Tamenglong, May 29 2021: The Nungba Area Village Authority Association (NAVAA), Naga Council Manipur Luangba Luangrian (RNCM LL), Rongmei Naga Luh Phwan Luangba Luangrian (RNLPM LL), Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation Manipur Luangba Luangrian (RNYOM LL), and Nungba Area Joint Action Committee (NAJAC), in a statement issued today, condemned the barbaric and cowardly act committed by the Manipur Police Commando at Nungba HQs today.

The associations alleged that the armed police commando personnel in disguise of 'handyman' coming from a truck opened fire in the middle of Nungba town against a suspected NSCN IM cadre.

The Manipur Police commando posted at Nungba for the security of the public and to combat COVID-19 is working against the interest of the public, it added.

NAVAA, RNCM LL, RNLPM LL, RNYOM LL & NAJAC further urged the State Government to take up necessary action against the police commandos to give peace a chance in the area.
