Two held in abduction case

Imphal, October 23 2024: Two persons suspected to be involved in the abduction of one Md Saiyur Uddin from Kashimpur Balijuri, Jiribam, were apprehended by Jiribam police from Lalpani area on Wednesday.

The two have been identified as Salim Uddin (24) s/o late Anur Ali of Lalpani Part-Il, Jiribam and Soriful Islam (26) s/o Najamuddin of Akbapur Village, Karimganj, Cachar, Assam.

According to police reports, Saiyur Uddin was abducted on October 21 evening from Kapakhal in Cachar, Assam, and was rescued by the police the following day around 3:30 am.

A case has been registered at Jirighat police station in Assam.

The arrested suspects will be handed over to Jirighat police, as the abduction occurred within their jurisdiction.
