JSCC calls for mass observance of 'Patriots' Day'

Imphal, August 10 2024: Joint Students' Co-ordination Committee (JSCC) has urged the state education department to take up initiative for organising mass observance of 'Patriots' Day' on August 13 at schools and colleges for instilling a sense of patriotism among the younger generations.

In a release, JSCC stated that the bravery and strength of the forefathers of the land demonstrated during the Anglo Manipur War-1891 need to be remembered by the people.

It urged educational institutes to organise patriotic song and poetry recitation competitions as a part of the observance of Patriots' Day and paid tributes to the heroes and to rethink whether people are still following the path of showed by the patriots who fought and sacrificed their lives despite knowing that they will lose the war.
