VDF body mourns demise of Premananda

Thoubal, February 04 2023: While mourning the untimely demise of VDF personnel Ningombam Premananda, who was found dead on Friday, Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association has appealed to all for observing candle light condolence in all police stations, outposts and units as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

In a statement, publicity secretary of the Association Laishram Nabadip Meetei reminded that N Premananda went missing on January 21 from Phaisi village under Chakpikarong police station in Chandel district while on an assigned duty for destruction of poppy plants.

He was, however, found dead by the search team on February 3 at Levenant hill range.

The association urged all concerned to hold candle light condolence in all police stations, outposts and units in Thoubal district and observe a 3-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

It also urged authority concerned to book the culprits in case the post mortem report points to murder of the VDF personnel.
