Imphal, August 10 2024: Unidentified armed miscreants launched a grenade attack at the residence of Dr Moirangthem Dhanabir (44) s/o Tomba, located within Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) campus under Imphal Police Station on Friday night.

According to a police report, the armed miscreants hurled and detonated the grenade at the front gate Dr Dhanabir, who is serving as the managing director of Diabetics and Research Centre, Porompat, at around 10.12 pm Friday.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack.

A nearby CCTV camera footage showed that the person who hurled the bomb was a middle-aged woman.

On receiving news of the attack, a team of Imphal PS arrived for investigation and later registered a case.

Mention may be made here that similar attacks at Dr Dhanabir's house were carried out on November 26, 2023 and on January 4, 2024.On June 7, a hand grenade was found placed at the Diabetics and Research Centre, Porompat.
