Bishnupur, December 28 2022: Expired cooking oil seized by a team of Phougakchao Ikhai police station from Nganukol Saiton in Bishnupur district had been disposed on Wednesday under the supervision of Food Safety Officer, Bishnupur Dr Nongallei Pebam.

Several containers and packages of the expired cooking oil were disposed of at the dumping site in Chothe village with the approval of EO of Bishnupur Municipality.

Meanwhile, Dr Nongallei has appealed to all the shop owners and food business operators in Bishnupur district not to sell expired goods anymore and warned that defaulters will be awarded penalty as per the law of the land.

He also appealed to consumers to check the labels including date of manufacture before purchasing any goods.
