Imphal, October 18 2024:
Aftermath of rising cases of dengue fever, Assam Rifles carried out an anti-mosquito fogging operation in Oinam village and an LDP camp in Bishnupur district on Thursday.
Noting that dengue fever continues to pose a significant public health concern across Manipur, with Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, and Bishnupur among the worst-affected districts, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that recent outbreaks in these regions underscored the need for immediate preventive measures.
Assam Rifles' troops took proactive action, conducting fogging in Oinam village and an IDP camp in Bishnupur district.
In addition to fogging, the local community was educated about crucial preventive measures against dengue, including vector control methods such as eliminating mosquito breeding sites, promoting personal protection through the use of insect repellents and protective clothing, and reinforcing surveillance efforts by encouraging regular health checks, the release added.
