Sadar Hills, October 26 2016:
Eight year old Kamminlun Vaiphei of South Changoubung village, Sadar Hills was born with an undeveloped right ear which hindered the development of his vocal chord till 7 years.
The minor boy is suspected to have been affected with Microtia, a congenital disorder that has to do with an undeveloped external ear, that can affect either one ear or both ears.
Despite being a normal boy, Kamminlun who is fondly called Lulun by his parents and friends started speaking with few single words like Hepa (Daddy), Henu (Mother), E (Yes) just a year ago.
Lulun's parents Paojangul Vaiphei and Hatneichong said he started attending school at the age of seven at UJB School.
He is now studying in KG-II at Diamond English High School, Kangpokpi along with his two elder sisters.

In order to make learning easy for Lulun, the school authority uses the teaching method and communication only through writing.
Lulun's parents cannot afford medical care with the meagre income they get from selling charcoal.
Lulun's mother Hatneichong while narrating her son's suffering said, 'I don't want children to bully him because he is different.
I want him to be accepted like any other normal children.
My son is a very sociable boy.
However, he knows that he is far behind other children of his age therefore he would sometimes hesitate to respond" .
She continued, "Lulun used to touch and hold the ears of his friends while playing with them.
Sometimes, he would hold my ear while sleeping" .
Hatneichong said that at the age of 5, Lulun was brought to Shija Hospital and RIMS for medical treatment but the doctors said that medical treatment can begin only after he has attained 8 years.
"We could not take him to hospital for treatment due to financial problem.
I feel like a worthless mother.
Seeing him suffering, I would weep silently at night," Hatneichong said.
"I have heard about Oja (JNIMS Director Deben Laishram) helping the poor who are in need of medical care.
If there is a chance for us as well, I wish to get my Lulun treated," she added.
Hatkim Ngailut, Headmistress of UJB Government School, also urged the Director of JNIMS if necessary assistance could be initiated.
"Lulun's parents are waiting for God's miracle and hope that Director Deben Laishram can certainly make that miracle happen," she added.
