Imphal, August 19:
A massive brass plate being constructed for installation at Kekrupat in memory of the 18 persons died in the ceasefire agitation is nearing completion in Delhi, according to social worker Amrik Singh Pahwa.
Amrik told The Sangai Express over phone late tonight that the map of Manipur, names and brief particulars of the victims and a short definition of the anti-NSCN (IM) ceasefire agitation will be inscribed on the brass plate which will be installed shortly at Kekrupat in consultation with the United Committee Manipur which had spearheaded the agitation.
The plate is almost completed and only the names and particulars of the victims are left to be inscribed on it, he added.
The leader of the All Bazar Community has further appealed to all the families of the victims to submit compact bio-datas and other particulars of the martyrs to him within one week's time.
Meanwhile floral tributes were paid to the 18 martyrs who laid down their lives for safeguarding territorial integrity of Manipur in a function organized by Joint Action Committee Against the Extension of Ceasefire in Manipur at Wabagai Lamkhai bazar today.
A two minute silence was also observed during the function attended by more than 5000 people.
