Imphal, January 16 2015 :
BJP State unit would field candidates in all DCCs of the six Autonomous District Councils (ADC) of the State which are expected to go to polls after some months, said BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha national vice-president Haokholet Kipgen.
Speaking to media persons at his Hengbung residence today Haokholet Kipgen while hailing the Central leadership for nominating him as a vice-president of the party's Scheduled Tribe Morcha, pledged that he would spare no efforts to strengthen the party in Manipur.
Underscoring the significance of ADC election in the hill areas of Manipur, Haokholet urged the State Government to take up all precautionary measures in advance so as to ensure no elements boycott the ADC election this time unlike the previous election.
The State Government should initiate adequate plans and policies in order to fulfil collective aspirations of the hill people.
Keeping in view the ADC election and the next State Assembly election, membership enrolment drive is being carried out intensively in the hill districts.
The party would invest all its resources and efforts in order to ensure that it achieves majority in all the six ADCs.
A grand meeting of all tribal leaders would be held in the month of February and the gathering would try to chalk out a foolproof poll strategy.
Although there is a Congress Government, no development can be seen in the State because of faulty policies and misgovernance.
However, at the Centre following the thumping victory at the last Lok Sabha election, the BJP Government has been working hard to bring development on all fronts, claimed Haokholet Kipgen.
It was in recognition of the consistent, outstanding performance of the State players that the Centre allotted Rs 100 crore for establishment of a National Sports University in the State.
Saying that the Central Government has started investigation into many cases of corruption scandals which were reported from the State, Haokholet said some major cases would spill the bean within the next couple of years.
In the meantime, the Government of India has started implementing the 'Act East Policy' for speedy development of the North East region.
BJP State unit president in-charge I Mangiton appealed to all the people to join the mass enrolment drive and help the party build a strong support base.
Up-Pramukh of the enrolment drive Naba Volcano said that altogether 2.5 lakh enrolment forms have been taken from the party so far.
