Union Health Minister to attend RIMS's Board meeting

Imphal, January 16 2015 :
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda would be coming to Imphal on January 29 to take part in the meeting of Board of Governors of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
During the meeting which is to be chaired by the Union Minister himself, RIMS authorities would try to prevail upon for construction of a new hospital building of RIMS equipped with latest medical equipments and other necessary facilities.
It may be noted here that the present hospital building of RIMS was established as a general hospital with 300 beds on October 22, 1968 .
All the existing blocks of the hospital are those that were set up more than 50 years back.
So, the need for a new hospital building equipped with upto date medical equipments and other facilities has been felt for long.
Apart from raising this issue, the annual budget plan of RIMS and other developmental projects to be taken up in the only premier medical institute of the North East are expected to be deliberated on during the meeting of the
Board of Governors.
