Imphal, April 01 2010:
An electronics store salesman suffered injuries on various body parts when unidentified person(s) triggered a blast at a Thangal bazar area today.
A police report said the blast in the interior room of Dinesh Electronics, Thangal bazar Khoyathong Road, took place at about 1.30 pm.
Bomb experts believe the explosive item might be crude hand grenade.
Impact of the blast caused injuries to a salesman identified as Soibam James (30) of Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, on the hand, legs and back.
James, currently undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital, has been ruled out of danger.
Quoting eyewitnesses, a police source an unidentified youth walked into the store where James along with a store mechanic namely Salam Imocha (35) of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi, were working.
Moment after the unidentified person walked out of the store a loud blast was heard.
Imphal West district police personnel spread out to Khoyathong and Thangal bazar areas in search of the culprit.
there is no report of arrest in connection with the blast, till the time of filing this report.
