Imphal, August 10 2024:
The JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has questioned the rationale behind the order issued by DP joint secretary on August 2 where it allowed recruitment of government contract posts for five years instead of regular post.
In a release, the JAC pointed out that 40,000 sanctioned posts of the state government remained vacant and recalled the appointment of retired IAS T Ranjit as Staff Selection Com -mission chairman on July 30, 2024 for recruitment of Class III & IV employees.
It posed the need for recruitment on contract basis despite having the commission.
The release pointed out that in other states like Nagaland, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh; ministers, administrative officers and HODs staued away from being a part of recruitment process.
Regarding the contract appointment for various posts through Employment Exchange few months back, it urged the chief minister for recruitment of regular appointment as there are vacant sanctioned posts.
