Imagi Meira presents gifts to Chadong villagers

Imphal, July 21 2024: With an aim to promote camaraderie between the people of the hills and the valley, representatives of Imagi Meira on July 19 presented gifts to people of Chadong village, which is the birthplace of social activist Ashang Kashar.

During the function where the Meira members presented Meetei traditional shawl and loincloth (Khudei) to the Naga brethren of the village, around 100 fruit plants were also handed over to Ashang Kashar and planted around the village.

Speaking at the event, Ashang affirmed that the indigenous people of Manipur cannot be separated and should collectively fight those attempting to divide Manipur and undermine its territorial integrity.

He also called on all indigenous communities to support each other and work towards building a peaceful Manipur under strong leadership.
