Imphal, October 18 2024: The weeklong 9th State Level Aquarium Exhibition cum Flower Show - 2024 commenced at Manipur Science Aquarium, DM University campus, on Friday.

The inauguration function of the exhibition cum show organised by Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) under the sponsorship of Department of Science and Technology, was held with Science and Technology secretary Hungyo Worshang, joint secretary Chingakham Shachi, director Homila Hongrei and MASTEC director Dr L Maniketan as presidium members.

The exhibition aimed at raising public awareness about indigenous plants and fish species, protection of flora and fauna, and promote science aquarium as academic and recreational facility, featured demonstrations on 25 indigenous fish and 40 exotic fish species.

Additionally, 80 indigenous and exotic flora, as well as 30 bonsai of 12 different designs, are on display.

During the exhibition, a three-day training workshop on "Fabrication of Aquarium and Its Management" will be held, along with an aqua-scaping competition.
