Relief items provided, medical camp conducted

Assam Rifles provided relief materials and essential ration to the people in distress at Waikhong, Kakching, Phundrei, Serou, Sugnu and Pangaltabi villages of Manipur.
The state was hit by a massive storm and rains on May 5 .
Hundreds of houses were partially or fully damaged in the storm.
Thousands of people were affected and many valuable assets were destroyed.
The Assam Rifles deployed in the area rushed to provide aid to the local populace, noted PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
Meanwhile, Indian Army organised a medical camp in Bishnupur district for veterans and their dependents.
As many as 102 ex-servicemen and their family members attended the three-day camp, which ran from May 6 to 8.The medical camp included essential healthcare provisions and dental services from medical and dental officers of the Indian Army.
Medicines were also distributed to the needy at the venue, according to a release by PRO Defence.
