State cop conferred PM's Police medal

Thoubal, September 03 2021: Okram Achouba of Thoubal Achouba Pakhangkhong has been conferred the Prime Minister's Police Medal for Life Saving 2019, by All India Sports Control Board which is under the ministry of home affairs.

The medal has been awarded to Achouba for his role in saving lives during the flood at Chajing Karam in Imphal West district in 2019 .

He was among eight persons chosen from across the country for the honour.

All India Police Sports Control Board secretary Raziuddin, in a simple event held on august 31 at AIPSCB office in New Delhi's Sadar Patel handed over the award to Achouba, who joined Manipur Police Training College as instructor before being posted as sub team commander of the State Disaster Response Force under department of relief and disaster management.
