Imphal, October 23 2024:
Disunity among political leaders is the main reason for chaos and crisis situation in Manipur, stated CPI (M) state secretary Ksh Shanta during the 20th CPI Jiribam local conference held Wednesday.
The conference held at Sorok Atingbi, Jiribam was also attended by local CPI (M) leaders Moirangthem Gopal, Aziz Haider and Sorokhaibam Thoibi as presidium members.
The conference was preceded by observance of a two-minute silence in memory of late CPI-M leader Sitaram Yetchury, former West Bengal CM Budhadev Chatterjee and those killed in the ongoing violence.
In his speech, Ksh Shanta expressed remorse that there is no harmony among BJP ministers and legislators of the present government in-spite of the prevailing unrest situation meriting collective efforts in resolving the crisis and bringing back peace and normalcy in the state.
State leaders are not only unable to convince central leaders to prevail upon the PM visit Manipur, personally assess the ground reality and mitigate suffering of the people, but also could not facilitate peace dialogue in New Delhi, he alleged.
The conference also discussed various issues of Jiribam district and later formed CPI-M Jiribam local committee with Aziz Haider as secretary for the next term.
