Takhel Ngaram victim identified, meeting condemns

Imphal, July 21 2024: Along with identification of the person who was found shot dead along the Takhel Ngaram road under Lamlai police station on Saturday, a public meeting held Sunday condemned the incident.

The deceased person has been identified as RK Prithibingamba s/o RK Rajen of Top Awang Leikai.

A case has been registered by Lamlai police station and post mortem examination of the body conducted at JNIMS mortuary on Sunday and later handed over to family members for performing last rites.

In connection with the incident, a public meeting was organised by Youth Development Club (YDC), Top Khunou where a number of resolution were adopted in addition to condemning the incident in the strongest terms.

The meeting urged all concerned not to repeat such acts in future and to provide opportunities to the family members before providing capital punishment to anybody by any organisation, and further proposed that the state government initiate necessary steps for wellbeing of wife and children of the victim.
