Imphal, May 29 2023:
Welcoming the vis-it of Union home minister Amit Shah to the state, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (CO-COMI) expressed high hopes that the visit will bring an end to the ongoing conflict.
Speaking to media per-sons at its Uripok Yambem Leikai office on Monday, COCOMI media co-ordina-tor Somorendro Thokchom pointed out that the pres-ent conflict is not an ethnic clash but a narco-terrorism launched by the Chin-Kuki group.
The narco-terrorist Chin -Kuki are attempting to distort the territorial integrity of Manipur and are a threat to the national security, he said.
Even though it is late, the visit of Amit Shah for controlling the situation is welcome, he maintained, while reiterating that the home minister will surely bring an end to the conflict on the basis of truth and justice.
People should also support the decision of the Home Minister, he appealed.
Meanwhile, COCOMI co-ordinator Jitendra Nin-gomba appealed to private hospitals to treat people injured in the fight against Kuki militants for protection of Manipur at free of cost.
While informing that pri-vate hospitals including Lit-tle Clinic, Nagaram, Imphal hospital, RIMS road, Ryan hospital, Kakching and Na-tional Charitable Hospital, Moirang assured of treating the patients without levying any charge, he also lauded the hospitals for their sacri-ficial spirit and benevolence.
