Withdraw order for removing BoD members: Farmers

Imphal, March 28 2023: Farmers of milk societies under the Manipur Milk Producers' Cooperative Union have demanded the Registrar of Cooperative Society to withdraw the March 25 order for removal of members of the union's Board of Directors.

Addressing a press meet in this regard on Tuesday, farmers' representative Oinam Hemba said that they cannot accept the order issued by the Registrar of Cooperative Society (RCS) .

The BoD members have been working hand in hand with the dairy farmers while taking up initiatives to enhance milk production of the state.

It is unfortunate for the RCS and directorate of veterinary and animal husbandry to sack the BoD members on false charges instead of taking up necessary initiatives to address the issues besetting the union, he said.

Demanding the RCS to Withdraw the March 25 order at the earliest, Hemba warned of launching different forms of agitation by the milk society farmers in case of failing to do so.

He also drew attention of the chief minister and the minister concerned in this regard.
