KUM mourns demise of John Karoung

Kom Union Manipur (KUM) has expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of Manipur People's Party (MPP) former vice president and KUM ex-president John L Karoung, who breathed his last on February 14 after prolonged illness.
In a release, KUM recounted John L Karoung etched his name in history as the first Komrem to contest the Imphal Municipality Council election from ward number 22 under Wangkhei assembly constituency.
Informing that his unwavering commitment to public service led him to become the IMC commissioner in 1984, the release said John Karoung held the post of Komrem Union president for three consecutive terms, leaving an indelible impact on the community.
He joined MPP as its vice president advocating the rights of the people and working for their welfare, it maintained and prayed for the departed soul to rest in in peace and his legacy inspire generations to come.
