Longmai church celebrates foundation day

Longmai-4 Baptist Church, Noney town, celebrated its 39th Foundation Day with the theme "Christ is the body of Church" on Friday.
Dr Rathaipou Riamei, general secretary Rongmei Baptist Churches Council (RBCC), attended the event as chief guest and delivered a sermon.
The Longmai church was founded in 1985 with only 39 households and 160 members.
As part of the programme, a memorial monolith stone was unveiled by the chief guest, while a commemorative souvenir was released by Pastor Pousinlung Kamei, chairman LCF.
The Women Society Choir and Baptist Youth Fellowship Choir members presented special numbers that enthralled the mammoth gathering including religious leaders and CSO leaders from Longmai area.
Special recognition and gifts were also presented to the first church staff members.
The plot donor of the church, SK Chariangbuan, was honoured with a memento for his generosity.
A citation was also given to SK Chingkhulung and Jangding Golmei for their selfless contributions in the Church compound levelling work.
Longmai Part-4 currently has 169 permanent dwellings and a population of 935.The total number of baptised members is 681, including 331 females, while 12 families from various villages, totalling 54 people, are currently affiliated as associate members.
Rev Poudimlung Gonmei is currently serving as a pastor, overseeing general administration and ministry duties.
The Longmai-4 Baptist Church is affiliated under Rongmei Baptist Churches Council and follows the Baptist faith.
