Imphal, October 18 2024:
Residents of Top Khongnangkhong under the joint aegis of Women Development Committee (WDC) and Public Club, Top Khongnangkhong, staged a sit-in protest on Friday at the local community hall denouncing the bomb threat targeting former MIS director Laishram Badalkumar.
The protest was held in response to the Thursday night incident wherein unidentified miscreants lobbed a grenade at Badalkumar's house at Top Khongnangkhong under Porompat police station.
Speaking at the protest venue, WDC president Kshetrimayum Shantibala strongly condemned the violent act, especially in a populated area, and the threat posed to Badalku mar's life.
"Fortunately, the bomb did not explode, averting what could have turned into a disastrous situation," she said.
Shantibala appealed for resolving issues peacefully and demanded clarification from those involved in the attack.
The protesters called for an end to such violent threats in the community, and urged for peace and safety of all.
