Churachandpur, May 11 2021:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday sent Tribal Affairs & Hills, Transport and GAD Minister Vungzagin Valte and MLA GS Haupu, who is also chairman of MTDC & MANIREDA, here to oversee the ongoing work progress on setting up an oxygen plant, construction of a medical college and the medical college's approach road.
Minister Vungzagin Valte and MLA Haupu arrived in the district around 2:30 pm and started the inspection right away.
Vungzagin while interacting with media persons appreciated the Chief Minister's keen interest towards ensuring early completion of the oxygen plant project.
The Minister then said that he was informed by the contractors that the main building of the oxygen plant would be completed in a day's time and, at the same time, he expressed disappointment that oxygen piping would take not less than 20 days.
Vungzagin then conveyed that the Chief Minister is now restless and eager to see the completion of the oxygen plant before the 20 days' period, that is May 20, and for that matter he instructed the Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur and the CMO to pressurise the contractors concerned for early completion of the plant.
Sources said that the Keystone Infra Private Limited is the work agency of the oxygen plant.
Meanwhile, Minister Vungzagin was elated to see the progress of construction work on the Medical College building.
When asked whether the state government is well-equipped to deal with the alarming surge in COVID positive cases, the Minister said the government is trying its level best to put the situation under control.
