LDU celebrates; Drama Festival begins

Kakching, October 18 2024: The 69th foundation day of Langmeidong Dramatic Union (LDU) was celebrated at the Union's hall on Thursday along with inauguration of the 47th Kha Manipur Drama Festival 2024 organised by LDU in collaboration with Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal.

The programme held with Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal retired director Laimayum Upendro Sharma as chief guest, LDU chairman & Hiyanglam MLA Dr Yumnam Radheshyam as president and Rupmahal Theatre, Imphal director L Brajamohon as guest of honour, commenced with paying of floral tributes to the photos of LDU's departed member artistes and observance of two-minute silence in their honour.

Later, a souvenir on the 47th Kha Manipur Drama Festival 2024 was released, 'MA 1st Class', a play by LDU was staged.

The competition section of the festival being participated by 21 theatre groups will continue till October 28 .
