Sit-in demands justice in Anandi's death

The JAC formed in connection with the death of Khundrakpam Anandi organised a sit-in protest at Heinoupok on Thursday, demanding justice in the case.
During the sit-in, the protestors held placards inscribed with slogans "We demand Justice", "We condemn Anandi's death", and "Protect Women" .
Speaking on the sidelines, JAC convenor Sorokhaibam Saratchandra raised suspicion of foul play in Anandi's death and as such, demanded justice be delivered in the case.
He continued that Anandi's body would not be claimed until the post mortem report is made available, and urged authority concerned to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
Meanwhile, a team of Singjamei police station arrested Anandi's husband Laishram Bijoy of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai and produced him before the Imphal West duty magistrate, who remanded him to six days in police custody.
