Crackdown continues against vehicle lifters

Imphal, May 05 2022: A team of Khabeisoi unit special commando led by its OC L Bebekananda arrested one more individual involved in modification of stolen vehicles and seized vehicle parts along with two scooters from Porompat Pangal Leirak crossing on Wednesday.

The arrested person has been identified as L Meghajit (28) son of Sunil of Kongba Uchekon Khunou.

Meghajit told police that he along with Pangambam Dinesh (35) son of, late Jadumani of Kongba Uchekon carried out the modification of stolen vehicles to deceive authority so that the stolen vehicles could not be identified.

Following his disclosure, the CDO team seized accessories and spare parts of vehicles along with a black colour Suzuki Access and Silver colour Honda Activa.

Meghajit along with the seized items has been handed over to Porompat police station.

His accomplice Pangambam Dinesh is still absconding.

Mention may be made here that the same special commando unit arrested one Laishram Ibungo (27) son of L Jiten of Kongba Uchekon and seized a TVS Apache motorcycle along with several accessories on May 3 .
