Public urged to phase out single-use plastics

Bishnupur, April 22 2024:
Under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division, 2nd Mahar Regiment along with Bishnupur Forest Division and BK Golden Academy on Monday organised awareness programme on phasing out single-use plastics and planted tree saplings at Academy's Kumbi campus.
The awareness programme was attended by Senapati Brigade commander Brigadier AA Ukidwe, deputy conservator (Forest Park and Sanctuary) Vikram Suresh Nadhe, 2nd Mahar Regiment commanding officer colonel Balraj Poonia and BK Golden Academy founder secretary N Birkumar as the presidium members along with officials and personnel of the Regiment as well as faculties and students of the Academy.
During the programme, Brigadier Ukidwe spoke on the importance of planting trees and highlighted the need for eradicating single-use plastics to protect the environment.
He also urged the people to start the change by practicing environment-friendly behaviours including recycling, tree plantation, etc.
