RPF/PLA cadres arrested with weapon

Imphal, August 10 2022: The Special Commando Unit on Wednesday arrested two cadres of the proscribed RPF/PLA from different locations.

The arrested cadres have been identified as Thoudam Bisharup Meitei (39) s/o (L) Thoiba Mangang of Senjam Chirang Mayai Leikai and Usham Sarat Singh (47) s/o Gandha of Senjam Khunou.

According to a police report, on receiving reliable information from 4 AR, a team of Special Commando Unit carried out search operation at Senjam Chirang Mayai Leikai and Senjam Khunou, during which Bisharup and Sarat were arrested.

The team also recovered a pistol, 75 live rounds and a magazine from Bisharup.

On questioning, Usham Sarat revealed that he was previously a member of the banned outfit, KCP and later re-joined RPF/PLA with Bisharup as the recruiting agent.

He further said that both he and Bisharup had already recruited three people from Senjam Chirang, Senjam Khunou and Mekola areas.

Meanwhile, Bisharup revealed that he is an active worker of RPF/PLA and joined the outfit under one self-styled Corporal Uchingou in 2000.He underwent basic military training in Myanmar and his army no is 2292 .

He is currently working under one self-styled Colonel Dilip Leisemba of Kongba Khunou and is involved in extorting money from general public and businessmen at gun point.

Both the arrested cadres and the seized weapon have been handed over to Sekmai PS for further course of legal action.
