Imphal, December 03 2022: With an objective to promote and preserve pony as a historical tradition in the contemporary society, JNV Bishnupur along with Loijing Loya Konung Lairembi Polo Club (LLKLPC), Bishnupur organised a horse-riding training for Army Wing and Air Wing NCC cadets at JNV ground on Saturday under.

Pace Setting Programme.

In a statement, JNV Bishnupur programme in-charge Dr Arambam Birajit informed that 100 cadets including female cadets took part in the training, the first such programme held at institutional level in the state for promotion of Manipuri pony.

The initiative was done to spread the message of preservation and promotion of the tradition and history of Manipuri pony among the people and to make horse riding a part of co-curricular activity in educational institutions.

During the training programme, LLKLPC team demonstrated throwing of 'Arambai' from horseback and the team coach Tomba Meitei spoke about the history of pony and its present condition, he conveyed.
