Minister Rajen assesses collapsed DMC pillar

Imphal, June 09 2021: Education minister S Rajen Singh visited DM College of Science, Imphal on Wednesday to inspect the collapsed pillar portion of the college building.

The Minister was accompanied by Hr & Tech Education commissioner M Harekrishna, DM varsity vice-chancellor Prof N Rajmuhon Singh and registrar Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Education Engineering Wing chief engineer Sharatchandra Singh, DM College of Science principal and other officials during the visit.

During the visit, minister Rajen assured to renovate and reconstruct the adjoining classrooms of the collapsed portion of the building.

He said that since the classrooms of the old building are not in a good shape, reconstruction of new blocks are necessary.

Necessary steps for new constructions will also be taken up on priority basis, he added.

Later, the ministerial team inspected the condition of wall fencing on the eastern side of the college along the national highway.

Minister Rajen also inspected the progress of the on-going construction of the Administrative Block of Dhanamanjuri University and assessed the earth work being taken up in the north- eastern side of the college campus.

Minister also instructed all officials and contractors concerned to complete the assigned work within the stipulated time in the interest of the students' community.
